A Climb for Hope
A record-breaking journey to climb all 446 mountains in England & Wales & bring life-changing mental health support to those who need it most.
THE 446 CHALLENGE
- Starting on May 9th, Alex Staniforth (record-breaking adventurer, international keynote speaker, author of two books and founder of mental health charity Mind Over Mountains) will attempt a challenge that has never been done before.
- He will climb all 446 mountains (Nuttalls) in England and Wales in one continuous, self-propelled effort.
- Alex will run and cycle over 3000km, climbing the equivalent of 10 x Mount Everest.
WHY?
- Suicide is now the main cause of death in people aged under 35.
- Every day, five young people take their own lives. 1,796 each year.
- The 446 Challenge aims to raise £500,000 to fund the growth and development of Mind Over Mountains, the award-winning mental health charity he founded in 2020.
- It will enable us to grow our innovative and highly impactful nature-based wellbeing programmes across every part of the UK and reaching many more young people across the country.
- This is your invitation to support him in fighting back.
Sponsor Alex from as little as £500 and help us to transform and save lives.
- 446 will be supported by Kinfolk Communications to secure PR opportunities nationally and regionally for both the cause and supporting brands.
- 446 will be documented in a film by award-winning filmmaker Dave MacFarlane, and entered into Kendal Mountain Film Festival and other key outdoor events, with a UK tour.
- All supporters will be invited to a post-challenge celebration event.
- Partners will have the opportunity to join Alex on foot or on cycling stages of the route.
