Mental wellbeing
for Emergency Responders
"This is a fantastic project and is much needed within my profession. The sharing of stories good or bad gave me and others a better understanding and perspective of our Mental Health struggles and it is okay to not feel okay."
Mind Over Mountains provides an evidence-based approach to mental wellbeing support for members of the emergency services. Both short-term & sustained mental health outcomes are delivered by our day walks, retreats & follow up resources:
- active time spent as a group walking outdoors in nature, led by qualified walk leaders;
- mental wellbeing 'walk & talk' support facilitated by our professional counsellors & coaches;
- learning techniques for ongoing day to day mental health management.
Provision of these interventions for teams working in the sector have shown statistically significant improvements in wellbeing & reductions in anxiety & depression.
91% of respondents in our annual customer survey reported a lasting mental health benefit from attending Mind Over Mountains events.
Mind Over Mountains creates bespoke events to suit the needs of different groups or teams. We can work with you to create a day walk, a series of walks, a weekend or midweek retreat (usually 2 nights).
Each of our walks or retreats includes pre- and post- event Zoom calls for the participants, walk leaders & wellbeing team - to explain what to expect, and ease any anxieties.
We also offer follow up resources to support participants & sustain wellbeing.
