Lakeland Trails 24 Hours on the Trails

Thank you so much for joining us to fundraise for our work! We are here to support you and will send your fundraising pack once you are booked on. Exciting!

We have 6 FREE spaces for the Lakeland Trails 24 Hours on the Trails event (with a minimum fundraising target of £350) , taking place on the 26th September 2026! You can create your fundraising page with us once you are signed up.  Contact us on fundraising_support@mindovermountains.org.uk for more information.

Set within the stunning grounds of Leighton Hall, in the beautiful Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape, this is a challenge with an unforgettable backdrop.

Like all Lakeland Trails events, 24 Hours on the Trails is welcoming, inclusive and great fun. Whether you're taking on your first trail challenge or chasing a personal best, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive community.

The format is simple and flexible: walk or run, complete a single lap or keep going for the full 24 hours. There are prizes for those who cover the greatest distance and those who spend the most time moving, but the challenge is entirely yours to shape.

Take on the event as a tag team with a friend or partner, share the experience with a group of friends or colleagues, or simply complete a lap or two before relaxing and cheering others on. Whether your goal is 5km, a marathon distance or something even bigger, you're free to set your own challenge and enjoy the event at your own pace.

When you're not out on the course, there'll be plenty to keep you entertained, making this a fantastic day out for participants and supporters alike. The Mind Over Mountains team will also be there throughout the event, cheering you on every step of the way.

The route is a 5.75km loop, with the direction alternating throughout the event to keep things fresh and give you a different perspective of the course.

When: 26 September 2026

Where: Lake District

Frequently asked questions

Our fundraising challenge events do require higher levels of fitness than our normal walks and retreats, so we are always happy to chat about what's involved. Do just email us anytime!

We recommend our walkers wear walking boots with ankle support, walking shoes or off-road running trainers - the most important thing is having a more rugged sole/grip to prevent slips and potential injuries on rocky, muddy or uneven terrain. This doesn't have to be expensive or high-quality brands at all - Go Outdoors or Mountain Warehouse are generally very good value.

We do work with a fantastic organisation called KitSquad who can help with providing second-hand kit so please do feel free to contact them with what you need and hopefully they can help.

Dogs, other than registered assistance dogs, are not permitted on our events. Sorry! Please advise us in advance if you need to bring an assistance dog. Thank you.
