Mik Barton

Mik started out as a journalist in local radio before moving into public sector communications where he has been head of media for many different bodies, initiatives and events. Immediately before joining Mind Over Mountains he was national campaigns manager for a government company working on behaviour change and safety campaigns.

Mik has also run his own PR business gaining private sector and international clients. As a freestyle journalist he covered Olympic and world cup skiing. He says it's not essential for mountains to have snow, but it helps.

He loves working remotely and in his previous job was known for joining online meetings from the beach, a campsite or up a hill.

Currently based in Birmingham, Mik also spends time in Eryri (Wales) and is looking to move to somewhere more rural – because it's good for the soul.
