This challenge walk is in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and summits three of the highest and best-known hills in Yorkshire: Whernside (736m), Pen Y Ghent (694m) and Ingleborough (723m).
Starting by Ribblehead Viaduct we head towards our first summit, Whernside. Whernside is a gradual climb with views of Morecombe Bay and the sea from the top.
We then continue walking through the idyllic Yorkshire Dales before a steeper ascent up Ingleborough, our second summit. Its flat top means you will get panoramic views in all directions. You will then have a gentle descent back into Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
We will quickly leave Horton-in-Ribblesdale to start our final ascent for our third summit, Pen-y-Ghent. Pen-y-Ghent means 'hill on the border', and you will be greeted with fantastic views across the dales. A gentle descent then takes us back to our starting point.
This is a challenging walk, so if you are not used to walking long distances please do contact us to check whether this is the right one for you, and we will be happy to advise!
Cost: £50 - To recover your £50 entry fee, we ask as an individual you commit to raising at least £250 for the charity. This amount covers one full bursary place on one of our retreats, or 5 places on one of our day walks. If fundraising this amount feels a little overwhelming, we still warmly invite you to join us and spend the day advocating for our charity with the donation of your entry fee.
Teams are also welcome, for example a team of 4 raising £1,000 would fund an entire Mind Over Mountains event, giving up to 18 people some much needed respite with a day in the hills and access to our professional wellbeing team.
If you would like to make a one off or regular small donation to the work of our charity, to help us support others and in recognition of your time with us, please click here. THANK YOU so much - we are a small charity and every donation is noticed and used carefully.
